We are smack in the middle of the best time of year in Maine. These summer days are the number one reason we put up with the crazy winters. Last night, Paul and I went to a baseball game, and it was 70 degrees at game time as the sun was just setting, and it actually got a little chilly! With the "hot" days rarely reaching above 85 degrees, we are loving exploring this beautiful state! And can I just take a moment to say how much I love walking at the beach after work? Ahhhh..... This truly is "Vacationland". Personally, this summer has been WAY better than last summer considering that I can walk without crutches or a boot this time around!
Overall we are doing well. Paul is working like crazy doing both home inspections and gigs - 'tis the season! It's really be a blessing as we've been able to re-start our monthly budgeting and it's always nicer to see more money going into the savings account than coming out of it, can I get an "amen"? My job has been going well too - a huge learning curve, which has been more frustrating than I expected. But, I have enjoyed learning a new line of business, and I have been making some great friends!
A couple weeks ago, Paul had a rare Saturday night off, so we took the opportunity to do an overnight trip into Vermont -our first getaway together since moving to Maine! It was my first time to Vermont, and aside from it being absolutely gorgeous, I was happy to see my 49th state! Now, all we need is a trip to West Virginia and I'll get them all covered! But really, it was so great to get away and just recharge, and Vermont in the summer is a great place to go!
Here is what the next month looks like for us:
- This Sunday, August 30, I will be preaching at Deeper Worship Center while our pastor is out of town. I'm humbled, honored and slightly terrified, and I would love your prayer support as I prepare. I sincerely believe that God has a word for us in this season, and I am excited to catch His heart and release it to my friends!
- Next week, Paul's parents are flying in for a 9 day visit, their first trip to Maine since we've been here! We are looking forward to seeing them and playing both tour guide and tourist! Please pray for safe travels and our time together.
- On September 15, Paul and I are starting a home Bible study. We will be studying the book of 1 John, as well as having a time of worship and prayer. We are believing that God wants to take us deeper, and we are praying for all who join our group to have such a rich encounter with Him this year.
- At the end of September, my parents are flying out with my grandmother for a visit. It will be great to see them again and spend some time "leaf-peepin"! Please pray for their safe journey as well.
We so appreciate all your prayers! Thank you for standing with us and praying for our marriage, our future children, our jobs, our finances, our home, and our health. It means more to us than you could ever know.
As always, you can follow us on Facebook or Instagram for day to day updates and pictures of the great Northeast! Love y'all!
