Hi Friends!
I hope that your 2015 is off to a fantastic start! This year I did something I've never really done before, and I spent the last week of 2014 reviewing all my journals and notes from the year. It was probably one of the most encouraging things I could have done. So often when we're facing a mountain, it can seem like the climb is never-ending and we'll never get to the top, and that's a little of how I was feeling. It was amazing to take a break and see how far we'd actually come!
In addition to looking back, I used that week to pray about what's in store for 2015. I don't know about you, but I like to ask the Lord for a phrase or word for the year to pray into and hold onto. This year I got two phrases: "OUT OF THE BOX" and "NO LIMITS".
And less than one month into the year, I've been seeing multiple confirmations from a variety of sources that this is what is on God's heart for the year. For too many years, we have put God in a box, either by our beliefs (or doubts) or by our ignorance, and He is wanting to break out and reveal Himself in new and mighty ways in our lives! What if we believed that He is bigger than we can imagine? What if we determined to run after Him to know Him in His fullness?
Additionally, we have put limits on ourselves, whether through past failures, disappointments, or fear. What if this was the year we actually started believing everything that God says about us? What if we decided that 2015 would be the year that we took Jon Acuff's advice and punched fear in the face?
This is our prayer for you this year (and our resolution): May God blow your socks off with His goodness and love!
Thanks for your continued prayers for us - below are some specific prayer points:
~Paul has had some great leads in his home inspecting business, please continue to pray for favor and business to increase to provide sustainable income
~I am soooooo close to being done with the first draft of my book. While it's still very rough, it's exciting to reach this milestone. Please continue to pray for continued revelation and insight as I push forward.
~We love living in Maine, and we are filled with continued expectation that God is moving up here and allowing us to partner with Him. That being said, we do experience bouts of homesickness, missing our family and friends and our Sojourn Church family, especially in the face of hard things and spiritual battle. Please continue to pray for strength and encouragement as we seek to guard our hearts and minds in Him.
Much love to you all!
