The Storm Before the Calm

Did you know that in the Bible the number eleven is most often associated with chaos, disorder, imperfection and incompleteness?   It seems appropriate, as we often use the phrase "the eleventh hour" to refer to times of stress, tension and emergency before the answer comes, and we all know the cliche "it's always darkest before the dawn".     So, as we celebrate eleven months in Maine, it should be no surprise that we've had some interesting things going on since the last update!    But Hallelujah, we are now into month twelve, the establishing of government, order and perfection!   And that is our prayer for this beautiful place, that His Kingdom would be perfectly established here.
We are mostly settled in to our new home (just a few odds and ends to find places for), and we have much to be thankful for (you may have seen my posts on Instagram or Facebook).    We are paying a great rent, which includes water, electricity and heat, so we are actually saving money in comparison to our last place!    As the seasons are changing, and the wind brings the frigid cold, we are grateful to be established in a warm home.    We've also been enjoying getting to know our new surroundings and try new things!
While we are bummed about being away from family for the holidays, we are looking forward to creating some new traditions and spending time with some friends!  Who knows, maybe we'll head on down to Plymouth Rock to celebrate Thanksgiving!  HA!
We are so grateful for your continued prayers and encouragement as we navigate this season in our lives.   Many of these experiences are completely new to us, and we continue to press into His presence as we try to discern His voice and His purpose for bringing us to Maine, and it's beyond comforting knowing that you are praying with and for us!   Our hearts' desire is see His Kingdom established in this place, for His glory to reign and flow from here to the nations.    We long to see people set free and to encounter His life-changing love.   We ache for the church up here to be restored to unity, working together to win the lost and expand the Kingdom.  We are desperate for the light of His presence to invade our lives, our homes, our churches, our cities and our state.   We are seeing Him move, and we know that your prayers are breaking through walls and releasing open heavens, and we are beyond thankful!

Aside from the prayers for this great state, here are some ways you can pray specifically for us:

~Our marriage - next week we celebrate our 8th anniversary!   We have experienced much in these 8 years, and we are grateful to be on this journey together.   Please pray that we continue to communicate well, honoring one another as we discover and step into all that God has for us, both individually and together.
~Our family - as many of you know, we very much desire to have children.  We believe that we have promises from the Lord, despite the negative reports from doctors.    Please continue to pray that God's word would be fulfilled in His timing, and that we would be strengthened in our faith while waiting on Him regarding this.
~Paul - the winter season typically means a slow down in business, for both home inspections and band gigs.   Please pray for new strategies to continue building connections with realtors and for growth in business.    Agree with us for life in the "dead" season.  Also, please continue to pray for clarity regarding purpose and some recent prophetic words (esp. timing, response, etc)
~Christi - As I work with the worship team to establish the worship department, please pray with me to gain insight into the sound that God is wanting to release through this team and this body in this season, for new songs that will release Heaven's heart and breakthrough in this area.   Also, as we have moved, I have an urgency to get this book finished (at least the rough draft) by the end of this year.  Please agree with me for a sound mind and for words and ideas to flow in an orderly fashion.

We pray that God will overwhelm you with His presence, and that you will be blessed beyond all comprehension in this season.   We bless your family gatherings with His presence and your homes with peace.    May you be surrounded by His love, and enveloped in His heart.    We love you, sweet friends!    Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
